This is a BKA supported event and FREE to BKA members of all levels. It is connected to the Scottish Kendo Championships, which will take place the following day on July 12th.

The goal of this event is to give you theoretical understanding and practical experience of how to referee kendo shiai from an international shimpan. We hope also to improve the connection and understanding between shimpan and shiai players. 

For lower levels, you will have the chance to learn all the protocols and expectations of a shimpan, and be able to referee matches, possibly for the first time, or to gain further experience.

For higher levels with shimpan experience, you will get the chance to update your knowledge of the most recent information from the ZNKR from Lam sensei, who was at the Brussels Seminar this year.

Attendees of the Shimpan Seminar of all levels will be asked to referee at the Scottish Championships on the Sunday, and put your new skills to the test!
