- **Event Description**: Hey everybody!!!  Now that the weather has warmed up a little and Mother Nature isn't actively trying to K*ll us, it's to to make plans for the first day of 2026!  Join the Friends of Backbone State Park and park staff for a beautiful hike into the east side of the park along the ridge that gave the park its name.  We'll meet at the old office, just outside the east gate, 1282 120th st, and walk down to the east gate to the Backbone Trail.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate and the bald eagles will  be hanging out over the river again.  Make sure you dress for the weather, and if you bring a pet, make sure it is on a leash.  We hope for another great turnout this year, see you there!
