It is mandatory for all members who use the "back room" tools. It is recommended for those who are "second adults" as it will include instruction on how to shut off machinery in an emergency. At the end of class, p articipants will be asked to demonstrate safe operation of each tool they wish to be certified to use. You can choose which tools you wish to be able to use.T his class is NOT an instructional "how to" class. It is focused on safety. If you have not yet learned to use a machine, further instruction will be necessary.I f you are an adult who works with a minor in the woodshop, you should take this class with the minor you supervise. No adult should supervise a minor on a tool that they themselves don't know how to use and use safely.
