Reiki Level 1 training is the foundational course for self-discovery and personal healing using the Usui system of natural healing. It is suitable for complete beginners and requires no prior experience with energy work.
The primary focus of this level is to introduce you to the principles of Reiki, receive your initial attunements (an energetic process that opens your energy channels), and equip you with the skills for self-treatment and sharing Reiki with friends and family in a non-professional capacity.
What You Will Learn
The course is a blend of theory and practical, hands-on experience. Key topics typically include:
Introduction to Reiki: The history of Reiki, its founder Mikao Usui, and the five Reiki principles (precepts).
Energy and the Body: An introduction to the human energy field, including chakras and aura cleansing techniques.
Reiki Attunements: You will receive one or more attunements (also known as Reiju) from a qualified Reiki Master, which permanently connects you to the Reiki energy source.
Hand Positions: You will learn and practice specific hand positions for conducting self-treatments and full-body treatments on others.
Practical Techniques: Instruction on foundational Japanese techniques such as Gassho (meditation), Kenyoku Ho (dry bathing/cleansing), and Byosen Scanning (sensing energy imbalances).
Ethics and Guidelines: Basic professional guidelines regarding confidentiality, working practices, and how to use Reiki safely.
Integration: Guidance on a recommended 21-day clearing process following the attunement to help integrate the new energy and a daily self-practice.
