Known for his fascination with time, decay, and the layered stories within materials, Loew’s abstract pieces reflect both the physical and emotional landscapes of his life.

He was born in Chicago, and throughout his life, he has been a painter, photographer, designer, illustrator — he even created book covers for Stephen King and many other authors. But at the core, it has always been about one thing — exploring textures and layers.

PASSAGE invites viewers to experience the evolution of an artist whose work captures the beauty of  impermanence and the poetry of change.

As David shares:
“I’m inspired by rust on metal, the peeling paint on a church wall, the tangled roots of an old tree. These are traces of time, stories we leave behind.

My new exhibition is a journey — of my works, my experiments with different techniques, and the artist himself, evolving through time. Today I live in Dumaguete, where I create art and also build a small space called Fermentina — a place that, like my paintings, grows in layers and gains depth with time.”
