- **Event Description**: This years' Blaze the Barle river race and freestyle competition is planning for Saturday 21st March (spare date Saturday 28th March)

This will the 14th year we have run this great event, which includes a team race down 6km of the River Barle, from Marsh Bridge to Exebridge, followed by a freestyle competition on the play wave/hole at Exebridge, followed by a junior race on a shorter stretch of river.

The race and freestyle are open to all adults, 16-years and older, with whitewater experience. Conditions are monitored and safety is allocated on the day, depending on conditions, but normally it is an open, adventurous race, for teams of 3, with limited safety, teams provide self-rescue where needed. 

The freestyle event 'loosely' follows ICF competition rules, and allows lots of opportunity for bonus points for old skool and exotic moves! The junior race will be protected with ample safety, of a ration of about 1-1!

More information will follow - but registration will be 0900 - 1000 at the car park of Masons Kings depot, off A396 Exebridge, with river race starting about 10.30, freestyle comp at 12.00, and junior race at 13.00. Refreshments during the day, meal in the pub after optional!
