As we move into the coldest, darkest months of the year, we gather to tend what warms us from the inside out — shared voices, simple songs, and connection. Whether you join Community Song Circle once or every month, you’ll leave with your spark glowing a little brighter.

Each Circle, song leader Hella Wartman will guide participants through songs taught in the oral tradition - no lyrics or sheet music required. We’ll sing a mix of rounds, layer songs, zipper songs, and call-and-response tunes being shared across global song circles today.

What to Expect:
-Songs taught by ear—no reading necessary
-A safe, inclusive space where every voice matters
-Simple, soulful songs that invite harmony and participation
-Opportunities to connect with others through music

Meet Your Song Leader:
Hella Wartman has sung in community choirs and ensembles her whole life. Over the past 10 years, she has trained in song leadership and Full Voice coaching. She leads monthly song circles in Minneapolis and Duluth, including regular offerings at UUCD and Spirit of the Lake Community Arts.
