New Year's by the Lake
Two of the largest promotion companies in the region have joined forces to create a New Year’s Eve extravaganza that hasn’t been seen in over a decade in Duluth.
New Year’s by the Lake will be presented Monday, December 31st at four venues including the Greysolon Ballroom, Moorish Room, Black Water Lounge and the Norshor Theater in downtown Duluth.
“We’re excited to be part of a team doing this epic event for the region” said Tracy Lundeen, President of Lundeen Productions and co-promoter of the event. New Years by the Lake is a collective effort with the Lundeen and Twin Ports Entertainment teams working with the Black Woods Group and Norshor. This event is long overdue and will give people that have been staying home since the big St Mary’s-DECC event discontinued in 2008 a place to go on New Year’s Eve where they can dress up and bring in the new year in style and have some incredible fun” he added.
New Year’s by the Lake will begin with an elegant dinner (gluten free and vegan options will be available) in either the Greysolon Ballroom or the Moorish Room with live dinner music provided by Tom Cawcutt and Ricky Lee Biggs respectively followed by a full blown music production titled "A Tribute to the Eagles" featuring the band Seven Bridges Road. After the show, the evening will just be getting started as the Greysolon Ballroom will be converted into a dance hall featuring the high energy country and rock & roll sounds of the Whiskey Trail Band. In addition, Laura Velvet & the Bookhouse Boys will wow the audience in the Moorish Room with sultry tunes from torch singers of the 1960s as well as dance hits of quintessential Motown girl groups and the Black Water Lounge will feature DJ Cory Bonneville from Sounds Unlimited playing the greatest dance hits from the 50’s to today-this dance party will rival the best!
There will be balloon drops, apps, a champagne toast and party favors at midnight in all three rooms as well as a photo booth. Specially priced room packages are available at the Sheraton Hotel located just across the avenue. All elements of New Years by the Lake are indoors and completely accessible via the skywalk system.
