"Could be Greg Brown's rowdy kid brother, Bob Dylan's illegitimate nephew, or Richard Brautigan's spiritual son."
Tom Surowicz, Star Tribune
"Awsumb delivers a cinema-sharp series of stories that resonate with a tenderness borne of some of life’s more, uh, un-tender moments." Lou Fusarro, No Depression
From recording with Liz Phair on "Exile in Guyville,'' to opening for the likes of Warren Zevon, Wilco, Morph*ne, and the Jayhawks, two time Minnesota Music Award winner John Casey Awsumb brings his road narratives of Alaskan fishing, Texas Two Stepping, and nomadic living to Wussow's for another sledgehammer folk fest. Accompanied by Gordon Thorne (Guitar), Mike Fowler (Bass), and Steve Sutherland (Suitcase drums), the singing principal will once again attempt to tear Wussow's down to pieces. An always rowdy crowd of wayward educators, eccentric empire builders, and shady financeres make the evening even more delightful.
The always delightful Nic Hanson is opening!
