Create a functional and beautiful set of four handbuilt ceramic berry bowls in this beginner-friendly class series. Over three Wednesday evenings, students will learn the fundamentals of handbuilding, glazing, and the firing process while creating bowls designed for everyday use.
No prior clay experience is required. This class is well-suited for beginners as well as those looking to refresh their skills in a relaxed, supportive studio environment.
What you’ll learn
-Basic handbuilding techniques
-How to shape functional ceramic forms
-Glazing basics and surface design
-An introduction to the kiln firing process
Students will leave with a set of four finished ceramic berry bowls and a solid foundation in handbuilt ceramics.
Instructor:
Liz Vandersteen has been teaching ceramics in the community for over 15 years. Her deep experience in clay techniques and supportive teaching style make this course accessible and inspiring for new and experienced artists alike.
