Coydog: An Anadarko County Novel is the first in a new crime series featuring a Native American bounty hunter who races across Oklahoma to find his man but finds himself deep undercover in the state's supermax prison to bust a drug ring. Coydog is a love letter to the pulp fiction paperbacks of yesteryear that blended Crime, Western, and Family Saga so beautifully. David draws on both his time in the military and the rich history of his adopted home of Oklahoma.
Set in the summer of 1995, Coydog is a thought-provoking crime thriller with a big heart which interrogates issues of Native identity, Veteran’s struggles, for-profit prisons, the plague of the 24-hour news cycle which grew teeth in the wake of the Oklahoma City bombing, and the opioid crisis that crept its way across the country closely afterwards.
In The Essentials, the global population reaches ten billion, bringing the planet to maximum occupancy. The population must be thinned; every citizen classified: essential or nonessential. Jonathan Shaddox is quintessential. Once this was merely a fever dream. The Essentials is sure to wow audiences alongside early readers who have called it a mix of World War Z, Paul Auster’s In the Country of Last Things, and Fight Club.
 
David Tromblay served in the United States Army and Navy before earning an MFA in Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Art with Stephen Graham Jones as his advisor. He was a staff writer for Season 1 of The Lowdown starring Ethan Hawke and the author of the novel Coydog (2025) and his memoir As You Were (2021), which Kirkus Reviews named as one of the best works of nonfiction for that year. David lives in rural Oklahoma with giant dogs and tiny goats. 
Dennis E. Staples is an Ojibwe writer from Northern Minnesota, and the author of Passing Through a Prairie Country and This Town Sleeps. He holds an MFA in fiction from the Institute of American Indian Arts and is a graduate of the 2018 Clarion West Writers Workshop and a recipient of the Octavia E. Butler Memorial Scholarship. His work has appeared in Asimov's Science Fiction and Nightmare magazine. He is a member of the Red Lake Nation.
