Discover the joy of working with clay in this small-group class designed for both beginners and returning potters.
Over ten sessions, you’ll explore wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques while creating your own functional or sculptural pieces. Each participant will receive 25 lbs. of clay—enough for 12–15 finished works—and guidance through glazing and electric firing to cone 7.
This supportive studio environment offers plenty of individualized instruction, making it ideal for all experience levels. Tools and materials are provided, though you’re welcome to bring your own.
Instructor: With over two decades of experience in ceramics, Sheila Staubus has studied at the Duluth Art Institute and Lake Superior College, participated in numerous workshops, and taught adult wheel, tile, and glaze classes. Her work ranges from functional to small sculptural ware, with a focus on craftsmanship and creative expression.
📍 Held in the SOLCA Clay Studio
