UMD IEEE Student Chapter will be sponsoring a tour at the Cirrus Aircraft plant on Tuesday, February 12.
Cirrus Aircraft is an aircraft manufacturer company that specializes in producing light aircraft models such as the SR20, SR22, and SR22T. Known as the world's largest producer of a Piston-powered aircraft, we will be getting a guided tour through the Cirrus Plant at the Duluth Airport.
All students are encouraged to sign up, however, only 25 students are permitted on a tour, you can sign up on this link you are interested on attending! Please fill out the link by February 8th at 5pm. It is important to sign up right away to reserve your spot! If we have more than 25 students, we will be looking to schedule a second tour later in the semester.
Every guest will have to check in with security (photo ID required) and international students need to provide their passport at check in as well. Closed toed shoes are also required, safety glasses will be issued on site, and absolutely no pictures/videos are permitted inside the building.
The Tour itinerary will be as follows. Be aware that we may run past the return time.
10:45 am Meet in MWAH 102 to prepare for departure
11:00 am Depart for Cirrus Aircraft
11:15 am Arrive, check in, assemble group
11:30 am Begin tour
12:30 pm Finish tour
12:45 pm Depart Cirrus Aircraft to return to UMD
1-1:15 pm Arrive back at UMD
