200 hr Teacher Training- Therapeutic Focus
People of all times and cultures have contemplated eternal questions such as: Who am I? Why do I suffer? What is the purpose of my life?
Although these questions have been written about and debated throughout history, no one has perfected the answers like yoga has. Yoga is a science; and much like modern scientists have explored the material world, the ancient yogis explored the inner world. What they came back to tell us was that we are not who we think we are! We are much, much more. And then in their generosity, they gave us concrete practices and philosophy so that, if we desired, we could make this same exploration.
In our study together over the next several months, we will look in depth at the practices of yoga. Exploring yoga's ethical practice, we will invite more harmony into our lives.
Hours spent in anatomy and posturing will invite alignment, the nourishing of relaxation, correct movement, and greater ease in our being. Breath work will open us to more peace in our minds and emotions and the ability to stay present to our lives. And meditation will lead us to the truth of our real essence and identity. Our time together will be a mixture of personal practice in the body and philosophical explorations using Yogas practical models and sacred texts.
Exploring yoga to this depth in a community of like-minded people is one of the biggest gifts you can give yourself as new relationships are built and developed.
You will also enjoy guest speakers and hands on, personalized instruction. Your study is led by Molly McManus and Teri Sanders, Yoga North core faculty, and guest speakers.
Molly McManus is as certified as ERYT 500 and Yoga Therapist and is a Somatic Educator
Teri Sanders is certified as C-IAYT, AYS, E-RYT200, RYT500
