Parakeets sind Julius (27) und Merle Eckardt (24) - ein Geschwister-Duo aus Düsseldorf, das akustischen Indie-Pop mit jazzigen, folkigen und bossa-artigen Vibes mischt. 

Nachdem die Band ursprünglich als fünfköpfige Indie-Rock-Formation startete, besteht sie seit 2023 nur noch aus den beiden Geschwistern. Ihre Shows bestehen aus handgemachter Musik, ehrlichem Storytelling, einer großen Portion Charme und echtem Live-Looping. Ihr Ziel: Gute Musik, die gute Laune macht. 

2024 tourten Parakeets mit ihrer „Hosomaki Tour“ durch NRW und machten dabei sogar einen Abstecher bis nach Hamburg. 2025 folgt nun die "Better Now Than Tomorrow Tour". Das kommende Debütalbum wird durch Förderungen des Ministeriums für Kultur und Wissenschaft NRW sowie create music NRW ermöglicht.
