They work across painting, writing, and facilitation to explore the emotional and political terrain of migration, rootedness, and identity.Up until recently, their life was shaped by movement – from Venezuela to Qatar, and now to the West Midlands. Their recent work explores stories, symbols, and silences that shaped their upbringing — reimagining Venezuelan folklore, family archives, and queerness in dialogue. They are particularly drawn to the gaps in cultural memory, working to create the kind of queer Latin American narratives they never saw growing up.Right now, Abigail is focused on developing a visual language that reflects this intersectional identity — one that is collaborative, reflective, and grounded in community. Being part of the Black Country’s creative ecosystem has been vital to this journey, offering them both support and inspiration. They see facilitation as part of their practice — not separate from it — and they place great value on workshops as spaces for collective reflection, cultural exchange, and healing.Whether through storytelling, collaborative painting, or reflective writing, Abigail aims to create spaces where participants feel seen, valued, and creatively engaged in telling their own version of “home.”Magdalena Jasiak – Artist BioMagdalena is a visual artist specialising in installation, video, and sound. Her long-standing interest in the arts began in her teenage years when she had the opportunity to develop an appreciation for art under the guidance of local artists.Many of her projects act as a form of self-therapy, allowing her to confront and process deep-held memories of the past and she often incorporates family memorabilia or objects belonging to relatives and friends.Originally, Magdalena is from Poland, but she moved to Birmingham in 2004.
