Join West Midlands Heritage Trust for a guided walk exploring the industrial heritage of the Dudley No2 Canal.
This trail features paintings and drawings completed by WMHT trustee Philip Adams in the 1950s/60s. It highlights features which have changed or ceased to exist and the walk takes about two hours along the towpath providing a pleasantly changed landscape of scenery and history from Hawne Basin to Windmill End.
Joining us on the walk will be well-known poet Heather Wastie, who has written about this canal and will recite and play for us some pieces which reflect the canal's past life. Philip Adams will speak about his art and reminisce about early experiences on the canal.
Please note that this walk will take approximately 2 hours. The path is mostly flat, aside from short up/downhill sections, however there are limited opportunities to rest and no toilet facilities once the walk has commenced.
The walk will go ahead in rain or shine so come prepared for the weather, and wear sensible footwear. In the event of very heavy rain or extreme weather the walk may be cancelled, and participants will be notified directly.
There is a charge of £10 per person for this event.
