Dubuque County Reads Documentary Film Screening

In celebration of Dubuque County Reads, Carnegie-Stout Public Library will show the documentary film "Women of the White Buffalo" on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Aigler Auditorium on the Library's 3rd Floor. Admission is free, but seating is first come, first served.

Directed by Deborah Anderson, "Women of the White Buffalo" (2022) is a documentary film featuring first-person interviews with nine Lakota women living on South Dakota reservations who are turning to ancestral values and wisdom to heal generations of trauma in their communities.

This 1 hour 26 minute film is not rated but is intended for mature viewers. Closed captioning or subtitles will be turned on. Please visit womenofthewhitebuffalo.com for more details about this documentary film.
