Shalom Spirituality Center

SBC® is a global community of readers, with more than 1000 chapters in 50 countries. Participants gather in public to share the same space while reading in silence, without the traditional book club’s pressure of having to finish a book on time and discuss it later. All readers are welcome and may participate through any format–a printed book, ebook, audiobook (with headphones), textbook, comic book, etc. SBC meetings are BYO book, but participants may also borrow a book from Shalom’s collection of spiritual and religious titles.

Participants will read in silence for the first hour, with the final 30 minutes reserved for optional social time in Shalom’s Dining Room. Coffee, tea, water, and simple snacks will be provided.

A free-will donation is appreciated.  Walk-ins are welcome, but RSVPs are encouraged; please RSVP online at shalomretreats.org or by calling 563.582.3592 by Friday, May 1.
