Web AppDev Workshop
Studying computer science teaches you tons about the world of programming...
But it can still be hard to build a living, breathing project that will light up a recruiter's eyes.
Now's your chance to learn how.
On Friday, February 16th we're hosting a female coding workshop to help you build your first web app. It's the perfect opportunity to get all the tools you need to get started on that project you've been dreaming about.
This workshop will be held on Friday February 16th from 1:30PM to 6:30PM at HubSpot's Dublin office for local women studying CS.
This is an opportunity to:
Work with awesome engineers on HubSpot's product team to get set up with github, heroku and node.js on your machine.
Collaborate and code with women from other schools and interests.
Build a working web app that you can put on your resume and use as a jumping off point for future projects.
1:30PM - 2:00PM: Arrive & Check-In
Register when you arrive, grab some swag, and get ready for the afternoon workshop.
2:00PM - 2:05PM: Welcome & Intro
2:05PM - 2:30PM: Theory introduction
Intro to what we'll be covering during the afternoon.
We'll be handing out some vocabulary cheat sheets to help even the most accronym alergic amongst us.
Make sure we're all on the same page with our laptop set-ups.
2:30PM - 3:00PM: All about the Base
Get up and running with the Base Web App. At this stage, you'll be able to run locally and be deployed on Heroku.
3:00PM - 3:20PM: Break
Grab some drinks, snacks and mingle
3:20PM - 5:20PM: Workshop time!
We have both an entry level and more experienced groups available
5:20PM - 6:30PM: Networking
There will also be optional CV help available from HubSpot's recruiting team. We'll show you where to find them if you'd like any advice on what they look for in a job application or learn some job seeking hacks.

Who will benefit most from this event?
This event is designed for female undergraduate computer science students who are interested in adding a side project to their CV to assist in finding internships or graduate positions.
Do I need to attend for the full day?
Yes. If you sign up, please plan to be at the event from 1:30PM to 6:30PM. (Of course, we understand if you cannot stay all afternoon, but there are valuable sessions throughout the day we'd hate for you to miss!)
Do I have to submit my CV?

What should I bring with me?
All you really need is a laptop and a power source however feel free to bring a CV if you'd like to review it with a member of our recruiting team.
I've attended the workshop before. Can I attend again?
Yes, you are more than welcome! Keep in mind though, if you attended the last workshop in November, the content will be the same - we thought you might want to know.
