Part 1: Revitalize Your Body
12pm-2pm
Learning outcomes:
Activation of your inhibited weak tired postural muscles.
Description:

Do your days involve stress on the body and/or mind?
Do you sit at a desk for hours or endure a long daily commute? If this sounds like you, chances are that your postural muscles are probably weaker, your prime movers are tight and you may feel a little stressed from time to time.

This new workshop, facilitated by Physical Therapist Joseph Devlin, will focus on stretching and moving our tired, tight bodies while calming and quieting our constantly active minds. It is designed to strengthen those laptop rounded shoulders; alleviate those stiff, chair bound back and hip muscles; and unwind.
Together we will learn and practice the correct techniques of basic core rehabilitation, which you can repeat regularly at home and at work. Building strength, control and postural endurance will not only aid your posture but will also keep your muscles loose and strong. The intention of this workshop is mindful movement to empower your body.

Who is this for?
All are welcome. No previous yoga or Pilates experience needed. And you don't need to wear tights (or shorts)! Regular and advanced practitioners will be progressed and challenged... Those experiencing pain are also welcome and exercises will be modified to suit your needs.

You will learn to balance your body, mind and emotions with some simple exercises and you will leave feeling rejuvenated and nourished.
Duration: 2hrs, Cost: €40. Bring: comfortable clothes



Part 2: Restoration for Body and Mind
3.30pm-5.30pm
Learning outcomes:
Relaxation of your dominant overworked major muscle groups.
Restoration of balance to your busy body and mind.
Description:

Do your days involve stress on the body and/or mind? Do you sit at a desk for hours or endure a long daily commute? If this sounds like you, chances are that your postural muscles are probably weaker, your prime movers are tight and you may feel a little stressed from time to time.

This new workshop, facilitated by Physical Therapist Joseph Devlin, will focus on stretching and moving our tired, tight bodies while calming and quieting our constantly active minds. It is designed to relax those laptop rounded shoulders; alleviate those stiff, chair bound back and hip muscles; and unwind your busy mind.
We will focus on restoring length to those overused and underpaid leg, back and shoulder muscles that may be shortened and tense from being crammed beneath a desk. The intention of this workshop is mindful relaxation to loosen your body and encourage harmonisation of your mind.

Who is this for?
All are welcome. No previous yoga or Pilates experience needed. And you don't need to wear tights (or shorts)! Regular and advanced practitioners will be progressed and challenged... Those experiencing pain are also welcome and exercises will be modified to suit your needs.
