Night Walk Tibradden to Fairy Castle/Ticknock and Talk on Exoplants
(Reference for booking 'night walk')
Description: An easy night walk from Tibradden Wood to Ticknock and Fairy Castle. An invited guest will give a 30-minute audio visual presentation (weather permitting) outside the Ranger Hut in Ticknock on recent discoveries by the NASA Kepler Project of exoplanets (planets outside our solar system). These discoveries were some of the most important in recent times. Our guest has worked on the Kepler Project for 6 years and will discuss ‘goldilock planets’ – planets, like earth, capable of supporting life, the discovery of which has advanced our knowledge and understanding of space and earth. While this walk is classified as easy, it will take place in darkness and is only recommended for those who are comfortable walking in the dark and over a relatively long distance. There is also a bit of a climb involved – see below.
