CRUMLIN UNITED have confirmed a mouthwatering line up for the Manguard Plus sponsored Robbie Keane Academy Cup with holders AC Milan being joined with Premiership giants Arsenal and Manchester United.

The club's own Under 12 squad will also host Celtic, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Burnley and League of Ireland Champions Shamrock Rovers in theeight team line-up. 

The tournament will take place at Crumlin United's Blake's Astro Park facility in Pearse Park on the weekend of April 24, 26 and 27. 

The Robbie Keane Academy Cup is now recognised as Ireland's Premier invitational schoolboy competition and Tournament Director Martin Loughran revealed that he had to turn down several of Europe's top clubs who were eager to participate in the event. 

The competition is named after the former club legend Robbie Keane who scored 68 goals in 146 international appearances for the Republic of Ireland while he also found the net over 250 times for clubs such as Coventry City, Inter Milan, Celtic, Liverpool, Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur and LA Galaxy. 


The Keane name is rightly lauded and the underage schoolboy tournament has earned a stellar reputation for the brilliant skills levels as well as the off field organisation of the three day event. 

Former winners include Cardiff City, Everton, Manchester City, Wolves, Sunderland and AC Milan while previous participants include the likes of Juventus, Benfica, Newcastle United, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Leeds United and US side Seattle Celtic. 

Crumlin United's Tournament Director Martin Loughran stated: "We are delighted with the calibre of club who have committed to the competition and we are delighted to see many old friends as well as new clubs making their first appearance and we look forward to making many new friends."

"The Robbie Keane Academy Cup has always produce top quality football and we expect to be entertained by some brilliant football over the course of the three days of action."


This year will see a slight amendment to the schedule with Group games on Friday morning and afternoon while Saturday morning will determine the final group placings and semi-finals being held on Saturday afternoon. 

Sunday will see the positional matches finished off with the final proper as the showpiece game of what promises to be an action packed weekend. 

Special thanks goes to main event sponsors Manguard Plus while the Blake Family, Mooney's Hyundai, Weirs Motors, Sunflower, Black Oak and Elverys Umbro are also thanks for their generous support. 

The schedule of matches will be confirmed in the coming weeks while tickets for the event will be available on Eventbrite. 

This year's groups are as follows: 

GROUP A: Crumlin United, Wolves, Man United, Celtic 

GROUP B: AC Milan, Arsenal, Shamrock Rovers, Burnley. 

Both Crumlin United and Shamrock Rovers were represented at the Manguard Plus Robbie Keane 2026 official launch on Thurssday evening. 

Crumlin United were represented by players, Flynn, Sam and Kai while Shamrock Rovers were represented by player Mason and Eli. 

Crumlin United coaches Dean and Noel were joined by Rovers' Adam Doyle wihle also in attendance was Aidan Price, FAI's Head of Talent ID. 

Tournament co-ordinator is Chris Kelly while Paul Donnelly will oversee the club's social media streams.
