Live Electronics @The HUB

Live Electronics @The HUB

The D.B.D venue presents the first night in a series of events, Live Electro@The HUB, where we will feature some of Irelands top, up and coming artists.

Doors @8 - Free In

Our First Headliner is Doug Cooney:
Doug Cooney is an avid record collector, DJ and producer, who has cultivated his knowledge of techno over many years. Doug's passion for the craft runs deep and his DJ sets span the full spectrum of Techno, past and present. His tight, quick mixing style and attention to detail have earned him warm up sets for many of his Techno heroes, with Dave Clark, UVB and [Abstract Division] being recent highlights. As well as being a Mutate resident, he also plays regular headline slots in Dublin’s biggest venues.

Support Acts:

Contour perform 'Appropriation', their latest project, which was a journey over the last year that started with some digging through an awesome record collection (Mick T-woc)
Choosing some sweet unique samples formed the foundations which became the building blocks for 20 tracks which were organised in the form of an hour long mix in one gigantic ableton set!
Anna improvised with vocals and harmonies over the loops and this shaped individual tracks. They then drafted in Wookie Simon Wall on sax and flute, Chris Con on drums, New Cicero on MC duties, Jack Manivan on double bass, Graham Teeling on electronics, Sarah Moose with some spoken word and Eels Grifferson on guitars and mongolian throat singing!
They used samples from some trips including caves in Iceland, Castro’s piano in Havana and a Cuban percussionist/priest, as well as other found sounds.
With the usual blend of Contour synths and studio work we sculpted a unique sound collage which is their album ‘Appropriation'

No more Questions:
Electro Pop duo No More Questions first met in school and have been writing together ever since. Over the past couple of years, NMQ have been crafting their production skills and rehearsing for live. The sound is electro pop but their influences are noticeably diverse.
NMQ recently released their second EP called Bow Lane Days, named after the studio where they first began this musical journey.

chateau is the electronic / pop project of 20 year old multi-instrumentalist and producer Sam Stevenson. It began in February 2017 in the form of around 30 demos, written and produced by Stevenson in his backyard home studio.
Over the months, these demos were further crafted and trimmed down and chateau's focus shifted to live performance.
He played his first support slot in October 2017 in The Underground Venue to fantastic response and now prepares to dive headfirst into Dublin's live music scene.
chateau has plans for a self released EP to drop sometime next year.
