WE'RE BACK and delighted to be sharing the first of our 2019 cultural happenings with you lovely northside folk!
First up is something completely new for us. We've joined forces with DCU Library to present IT'S ALL ABOUT BOOKS, a visual art exhibition by Irish artist Marie Hanlon inspired by and about, you've guessed it: books.
Opening on February 22nd at 6pm and running until March 15th, IT'S ALL ABOUT BOOKS is a visual art installation about books set in a library.
The exhibition focuses on the physical aspects of books, their history and their future in a technology driven world. Artist Marie Hanlon says "I didn’t think it at the start but when I looked at the works collectively, I realised that they’re all, in some way or other, about ‘seeing’, seeing and understanding”.
IT'S ALL ABOUT BOOKS is FREE and open daily on the top floor of the Cregan Library in DCU St Patrick's Campus, Drumcondra, Dublin 9. We highly recommend you check it out!
DCU Library has developed a Thursday Talks series to accompany and illuminate the exhibition. Talks take place on February 28th, March 7th and March 14th from 6-7pm at Cregan Library, DCU St. Patrick’s Campus.
Ticket for the talks are free but need to be booked here:
