Giant's Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge from Dublin Nov 18 - March 19

Depart Dublin and travel up through Belfast (the capital of Northern Ireland) and then on to the romantic avenue of intertwined beech trees known as the "Dark Hedges." Planted in the 18th century by the Stuart family, they remain a beautiful sight and were even used in the HBO series, Game of Thrones Then it's on to the Giants Causeway which is a natural phenomenon of interlocking basalt columns, commonly referred to as the '8th Wonder of the World', The Giants Causeway is comprised of some 40,000 basalt columns that legend has it was built by the Irish Giant Finn McCool himself (to learn more you'll have to come on tour with us)After which it's onto the Carrickarede Island where you will have to traverse the now famous Carrick-a-rede Ropebridge to access the island itself. Built originally by the local fisherman as a way to catch confused salmon who thought the chasm separating the island from the mainland was in fact a river mouth. The bridge itself sways 30 metres above the rocks and water below and is the only thing connecting the island to the mainland. Not to be attempted by the fainthearted. Then it's time to relax and take in the sights as we bring you back to Belfast via the coastal road and over the magnificent Glens of AntrimBelfast itself is the birthplace of the Titanic, and was a major hub in the 'troubles' experienced in Northern Ireland before the peace agreement in 1998 (all will be explained on tour) You will be given some free time to explore this now beautiful city by yourself, be it shopping, taking in the sights or getting yourself a well deserved meal we are sure that Belfast will not disappoint. Then it's back to Dublin.Tour length is approx 13 hours (weather and traffic permitting)
