The Dublin Bay Coastal Trek on a Thursday or Sunday Morning is solo friendly and great for those who want to keep fit , make new friends and learn about Dublin . It is also a great taster if you fancy The Camino De Santiago in the future.
Join "Irish Walking " at the GPO in Dublin's O'Connell St . Walk through some of the more interesting areas of Dublin off the normal tourist trail .
Walk through Dublin Docks across the Liffey at the 02 Arena , across the East Link Bridge and past the Aviva Stadium .Pass through Ringsend, Sandymount, Booterstown, Blackrock, Monkstown to Dun Laoghaire.
In Dun Laoghaire you can have a coffee at one of the many restaurants, enjoy a glass of wine " in "The Forty Foot" , walk the pier or have an ice cream in Scrumdiddlys or Teddy's.
If you need to pamper yourself , have lunch at the wonderful food stalls , have a second glass of wine , go to the cinema , take a boat trip to Howth or visit Bloomfield's or Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre. On a Sunday you can visit the open air market
To earn this treat we walk roads, beach and park walking along the coast, moving at a reasonable pace but if you start to tire we can slow down There are few distractions till we stop for a coffee in Sandymount or Booterstown . You will need a reasonable level of fitness, good footwear and a sense of humour.

Don’t worry there are loads of toilets on the way . Passports are not necessary just a little patience if some are a little slow. This is not a race if you want a sweaty workout at speed forget it, stay in bed. If you are worried about the rain stay in bed as well .
It's a great way to make new friends on your Irish Holiday or practice for The Camino . Solo Travellers are especially welcome but everyone must be over 18 and reasonably fit.
Tickets for the trek (if available) can be bought on Facebook or here Eventbrite up to 2 hours before we start.
Dun Laoghaire is well served by Dart or Bus with connections to all parts of Dublin North and South. The walk finishes at 1.30 at Dun Laoghaire Dart/ Railway Station from where you can travel to anywhere in Dublin.
Q. Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
You must be over 18 to attend and have prebooked.The event is targeted at those from 30 to 60.
Q. What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
We meet at GPO O'Connell St Dublin . This is the most central point of Dublin City beside the Spire. You have all options .Motor , Train, Bus etc.
Q. What can/can't I bring to the event?
Dogs or Cats are not allowed in case they chase others. Booze is out and definitley no jeans if they get wet you will know why. Wear boots or good runners . Leave The Italian Mocassins or Stiletos at home.Red M&M's are a no no. If you have a grumpy partner who does not want to be there leave them at home. Horses, and Quads are also banned, There is no need to keep checking your phone just talk to the person next to you and make new friends. Keep your eyes off the screen and you will enjoy the trek. Handbags and Man Bags are a bad idea try a pouch. I know they make you look tubby but they can be less hassle

Not a problem if you have the ticket.

A. Up to 8pm the night before you can claim a refund online. After the event there is no refund.
