Using repurposed gasket heads as his medium, Antonio will share his unique approach to experimental drawing. Through a process of tracing, layering, and reinterpreting their shapes, you will have the opportunity to create dynamic compositions that challenge traditional drawing techniques and echoes the cubist works in the exhibition. Participants will gain insight into his creative process and explore new ways of seeing and responding to form, texture, and space.

We have two sessions available. The first will begin at 1pm and conclude at 2.15pm in exhibition rooms will the second session runs from 3.30pm to 4.45pm. The meeting point is the Education Studio. The price is €5 with a concession rate available for seniors and Friends. Participants must book in advance.

Antonio is a visual artist and a designer/maker living in Skerries, North Co Dublin. His primary interest is in repurposing everyday materials and mixed media that are often hidden from sight, deemed useless or taken for granted. His practice sees him exploring how these materials change and transform through physical handling. Antonio’s creative expression moves within his interests in geometry and organic matter: it is here that he allows his inner emotions and memories to dictate what manifest outwardly.

Mainie Jellett and Evie Hone. The Art of Friendship is kindly supported by The Klesch Collection, Lead Sponsor; Friends of the National Gallery of Ireland, and the Art of Friendship Giving Circle.

The Gallery would like to thank the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media for their ongoing support.
