Dragon at Scene & Heard

Dragon is back again and bigger than ever!!!

------------------

"Can monsters change? And how?"

Dragon is a new musical, telling the tale of a young man (but not that young). He is a serial-first-dater, Tinder Wizard, and a fantasy aficionado. As the cafés and girls change, the story he tells remains the same: the mythical tale of an all-powerful dragon. This world becomes illuminated before our very eyes as the focus shifts to the dragon, terrorizing a village of defenseless civilians.

The show is in parts comedy, drama and fantasy. In the real world, the man is experiencing the conflict between a mindset that is rapidly aging and a world that is moving on without him. This friction is explored through the narrative of the Dragon, who kills and plunders in the world of the man's imagination. In dealing with this subject, we have injected a substantial dose of humour (hopefully more relevant than the protagonist's) and music.

Dragon is performed with strong emphasis on the ensemble. Movement, music and controlled chaos rule the stage in this subversive and thought-provoking piece.

Devised and produced by Fizz & Chips as part of Smock Alley's Scene & Heard Festival. This work-in-progress will showcase Act 1 of the full-length musical. Feedback & comments, as always, are appreciated.
