The first half of the album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Orchin (Hatchie, Launder, Tamaryn), and it was completed in Madrid at Alejandro Leiva’s studio (Bum Motion Club). The album was presented at Sala El Sol in Madrid with the support of Elias Bender Rønnenfelt (Iceage).The strong reception of their debut led them to perform at festivals such as BBK Live, Primavera Sound, Eurosonic ESNS, The New Colossus Festival in New York, Vida Festival, Tomavistas, Monkey Week, Esmorga Fest, and Zgz Psych Fest, among others. They have also opened for international bands such as Tess Parks, Bodega, and Just Mustard during their visits to Madrid.In their ongoing search for the “shoe that fits Dharmacide’s size,” the band led by René Sharrocks crossed paths with one of their reference shoemakers, Mark Gardener (Ride), who produced, mixed, and mastered several of their latest singles at his Oxford studio, including “Lovers” and “Horses/Divorces.” Their second album, Tougher Than The Rest, marks a step forward for the band with a darker, more atmospheric sound, full of eerie riffs and ethereal vocals. The record evokes the feeling of a long night filled with the strange and random events we have all experienced, expanding their sonic identity while maintaining their dreamlike intensity.
