Participation in the showcase is encouraged, but not required. It's a fun, low-pressure opportunity to perform for a supportive group of peers, family and friends!DETAILS:BEGINNERS course is ideal for dancers with less than 1 year experience, for those who have learned a few steps but lack comprehensive technique, or those who feel very rusty. Each week builds upon what you learned the week before. Explore the fundamentals of tap technique, basic steps, fun combinations and a dance routine! (Note - this may be a challenging course for a complete beginner. Complete beginners are encouraged to join in Sept 2026.)IMPROVERS class is intended for students who have already taken at least one full academic year of Beginners Courses, or for experienced tap dancers looking to brush up their skills. We will keep learning new steps and combinations beyond what you already know, introduce some rhythm-building and improv, and learn a new routine!INT/ADVANCED class is for experienced tap dancers, or by invitation from the teacher. Fast-paced, with more complicated rhythms, musicality, trick steps, and a wide range of styles! I often have a wide age range in my classes, with students in their teens up to their 60s!What are my transport options for getting to and from the class?Dublin Bus: G1 & G2 (formerly buses 13 and 40)Luas Red Line: Goldenbridge or DrimnaghParking: Free street parkingDo I need my own tap shoes? What should I wear to class?Students are expected to buy their own tap shoes, a basic pair costs about €35 at Dance World (on Parnell St or in Ranelagh). If you would like to try a few classes before investing in tap shoes, I recommend wearing shoes with a smooth, non-rubbery sole, that has a separate heel and toe (like brogues, not flats). Dress comfortably, you'll work up a sweat!
