Starting at the courtyard, you will move on through the formal gardens to the meadow, finishing up at Bully’s Acre and St. John’s Priory. Along the way, you will tackle a variety of photographic topics including architecture, nature, woodland landscapes and heritage themes, and Carsten will share his way of creating a photograph, give tips and answer questions.Please note we may be capturing candid imagery at this event for use on our social media and website.What to bring: Camera (any camera, even a phone) and lens(es) - from wide angle to tele and a macro lens if you have one, tripod (would be helpful), laptop with card reader (if you want to review your images after the walk).Carsten Krieger is a photographer, author and environmentalist based on the west coast of Ireland. He has published numerous books on Ireland’s landscape, nature and heritage including Ireland’s Coast, The River Shannon and the popular Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. His book Wild Ireland: A Nature Journey from Shore to Peak was shortlisted for the An Post Irish Book Awards 2023. His most recent book is Ireland's Wild Beauty: A Book of Days, with his new book Ten Thousand Years Deep: The Story of Ireland's Peatlands coming in October. Carsten is also working as editor for the Crossbill Guides Foundation and project manager for AstonECO.
