The farm tour will be hosted by Jack Courts, third-generation principal of Glenalbyn Santa Gertrudis. We’re looking forward to an exclusive, behind-the-scenes visit to a family operation built over more than half a century.

Originally established in Bourke, NSW, Glenalbyn relocated to Wellington in 2014, and has carried forward a proud legacy grounded in integrity, consistency, and continual improvement. Since becoming principal in 2023, Jack has continued to refine the stud with a strong emphasis on fertility, growth, and carcase quality, producing adaptable Santa Gertrudis cattle that are sound, productive, and profitable for modern beef producers, guided by client feedback and long-term performance.

During the course of the day we will hear from Jack, a 2024 Nuffield Scholar (supported by Meat & Livestock Australia), Jack has explored maternal efficiency in ruminant animals, examining genetics, reproduction, and feed efficiency to strengthen productivity and support the industry’s sustainability goals. With experience across the beef and sheep industries, including time in the northern beef industry, studies at Marcus Oldham, and most recently as Farm Manager at Mumblebone Merino Stud, Jack brings a practical perspective to the next chapter of Glenalbyn, ensuring the stud continues to evolve for generations to come.
We will also host a couple of panels with a wide range of topics discussed based of what you would like to hear.
Our panels will focus on capital allocation and funding pathways for young primary producers, lease farming and family succession, Ag-tech and the what to look out for, and tools to strengthen how we can promote innovation and investment in rural areas.
Arrival from 10am. The event will conclude at 3pm. Your ticket will include a BBQ lunch and refreshment
