The studio where this training will take pllace is in Dundalk town center and is easily accessible by public transport. There is ample car parking at the Studio, on Sunday parking is free of charge and Saturday its 1 euro per hour or just 5 euro for the day in the nearby Marshes shopping center car park.
This weekend programme will be facilitated by Maryrose Connolly, Yoga Therapist and Meditation Teacher who has over 20 years’ clinical experience in working with students who have a wide range of health problems such as Cancer, MS, CVA, Fibromyalgia and Arthritis etc. This course is eligible for 12 contact hours CPD/CE.
Aims of the course:
Increase awareness of cancer treatment.
Side effects on the muscular skeletal system after chemotherapy and how yoga can assist.
Reprise of anatomy and physiology with emphasis on lymphatic and circulatory systems.
Adapting asanas for the medically challenged client.
Developing safe yoga practice.
Building stamina to reduce fatigue.
The psychological and emotional effects of diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
Special problems: anxiety, stress, fear, insomnia and panic attacks, loss of confidence, extreme fatigue and self-esteem.
This course will be very practical, with hands on approach to give the yoga teacher/therapist more confidence and skill in dealing with individuals who have special health issues in their classes.
Course fee will be 260 euro (full payment in advance), the fee includes all course materials and a certificate.
