Together, you’ll explore Ceiliúradh: Treasures of the Boyne Valley and focus on some of the river and sea themes within the paintings. “With the river as a constant, themes explored in the exhibition include a sense of place, continuity and change, and treasures past and present”. HGAfter a short, family-friendly tour of the exhibition, Caoimhe will guide participants in creating their own seashells using mixed media techniques. We will also create our own flowing rivers using watercolour and pastels. With simple, tactile methods, families will experiment with different textures and techniques making individual artworks inspired by Raphael Hynes ‘Shell’ and Joanne Carwright’s ‘View from the Curley Hole'. This gentle, hands-on session is a lovely first step into the world of art for little ones, encouraging curiosity, imagination, and shared creativity between parent and child in the welcoming setting of the Highlanes Gallery.All materials provided.Do not worry if you are running late or have to leave early – we can facilitate to your needs.Toilets are closeby with baby changing facilities at Lower Ground Level and our café, Five Good Things is at ground floor level.
