At a time when the rich festival culture that we now enjoy was entirely new, the 1976/77 Féile na Bóinnes originated a new form of festival; a festival that was entirely DIY, community and artist-led.The panel will reference RTÉ archival news footage and Drogheda photographer Joe Dowdall’s extraordinary 35mm black and white studies of the 1976 and 1977 festivals, now housed at the Irish Traditional Music Archive.Free event, booking required.
