Maud the moth ist das Soloprojekt der in Spanien geborenen und in Schottland lebenden Künstlerin Amaya López-Carromero. Getragen von einer tiefen Leidenschaft für den Gesang, die in der oralen Folktradition ihrer Heimat wurzelt, und einer durch klassische Studien geschärften kompositorischen Vision, hat Amaya ihr Leben dem Durchwandern gegensätzlicher Landschaften und Kulturen gewidmet. So entwickelte sie eine einzigartige, genreübergreifende Identität innerhalb der zeitgenössischen alternativen Musikszene Europas.

Maud the moths kompromissloses und kathartisches Werk erntete weitreichendes Lob der Fachkritik und führte sie auf die Bühnen renommierter internationaler Festivals wie Roadburn, Primavera Sound, ArcTanGent, AMFest, Ancient Echoes, Rock in Bourlon oder Northern Winter Beat.

Das aktuelle Album „The Distaff“ (Februar 2025) wurde von Amaya gemeinsam mit Scott McLean (healthyliving, Ashenspire, AMUM) produziert und von Alex Wharton in den Abbey Road Studios gemastert. Mit einer beeindruckenden Liste exzellenter Rezensionen – unter anderem von PROG, BBC6, Mondosonoro, Noizze, Angry Metal Guy und Muzikalia – etablierte sich das Werk als eines der herausragenden „Metal-adjacent“-Releases des Jahres.

Bei diesem Konzert wird Maud the moth als Duo auftreten, unterstützt von Scott McLean an Gitarre und Synthesizer.
