The Dresden HEMA Cup 2027 brings competitive HEMA fencers to Dresden for:
• Open Longsword – 64 spots
• Women’s Longsword – 12 spots
• Saber – 36 spots
• Rapier & Dagger – 24 spots
• Sword & Buckler – 12 spots


YOUR HEMA WEEKEND

Saturday is dedicated to Open Longsword.

On Sunday, you may enter up to two competitions:
• either Women’s Longsword OR Sword & Buckler
• AND either Saber OR Rapier & Dagger

That means you can fence in up to three competitions over one weekend.

OPEN LONGSWORD – THREE-TIER FORMAT
Open Longsword uses our established three-tier format:
• Tier 1 – 16 fencers
• Tier 2 – 32 fencers
• Tier 3 – 16 fencers
Initial placement is based on your HEMA Ratings score.
You will fence two pool rounds, with promotion and relegation between tiers after each round. The final tier standings determine the elimination brackets.


REFEREEING

A tournament is only as good as its judging.
The 2027 Cup will again work with experienced referees and established members of our HEMA Cup judging team, supported by international referees from Poland and Hungary.

There will be clear judging standards, referee briefings and enough officials to keep the tournament running consistently.

Video review will be available during the elimination rounds.


ENTRY FEES

• €60 base fee
• €20 per competition

There are no refunds if you cancel your participation.

However, you may transfer your place to another fencer. The replacement fencer may also use the transferred place for a different competition, provided there are still spots available.
