- **Event Description**: At Shelly’s Uptown Grill, we are proud to offer a unique game experience called Queen of Hearts.
 
HOW IT WORKS
• There are 54 cards utilized.  52 regulation cards & 2 Jokers.
• To participate you must purchase a minimum of one (1) ticket during the week of each drawing.
• Tickets will be sold at the bar and can only be purchased in person.
• ALL TICKETS MUST HAVE YOUR LEGAL FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, PHONE NUMBER & ENVELOPE NUMBER YOU ARE CHOOSING WRITTEN ON THE BACK OF THE TICKET.
• If the name on the ticket is not legible, the ticket will be considered void and another ticket will be drawn.
• If there is no number on the ticket, a Shelly’s Crew Member will make the selection on your behalf.
• An estimated Jackpot amount will be posted near the Queen of Hearts game board.
• Tickets will stop being sold at 7:30pm on Thursday.
• The winning ticket will be drawn between 7:30pm & 8:30pm on Thursday.
• After the winning ticket is drawn, all tickets will be disposed of and ticket sales for the following week will begin on Friday.
• The Queen of Hearts game continues until someone finds the Queen of Hearts.
 
PAYOUT STRUCTURE
• Selecting the Queen of Hearts pays out 90% of the current jackpot if the winning person is present at the time of the drawing.  The game ends and the remaining 10% will go towards the next game.
• Selecting the Queen of Hearts pays out 50% of the current jackpot if the winning person is not present at the time of the drawing.  The game ends and the remaining 50% will go towards the next game.
• Selecting a Joker pays out 30% of the current jackpot, with a maximum of $500, if the winning person is present at the time of the drawing & 15%, with a maximum of $250, if the winning person is not present.  The game continues.
• Selecting the Queen of Diamonds, Spades, or Clubs pays out 20% of the current jackpot, with a maximum of $300, if the winning person is present at the time of the drawing & 10%, with a maximum of $150, if the winning person is not present.  The game continues.
• Selecting any Ace, King, Jack or Ten (10) pays out 15% of the current jackpot, with a maximum of $225, if the winning person is present at the time of the drawing & 7.5%, with a maximum of $125, if the winning person is not present.  The game continues.
 
GAME INTEGRITY
• The management of Shelly’s Uptown Grill will address any and discrepancies.
• Shelly’s Uptown Grill reserves the right to change or alter the rules of the game at any time as deemed appropriate or necessary to meet potential Ohio law changes.
• All payouts will be made no later than Tuesday of the following week after accurate calculations have been completed.  Shelly’s Uptown Grill will attempt to make payments earlier for any non-jackpot winner and also reserves the right to extend this deadline if deemed necessary.
 
HOW IS THE QUEEN OF HEARTS GAME LEGAL?
Queen of Hearts has various rule structures.  Legality depends on the individual rules and regulations of each Queen of Hearts game.  As a general rule, when all proceeds collected in the Queen of Hearts game are paid out to the pool of participants within the same game, it may be considered a “pool not conducted for profit” which is not against the law in Ohio.  However, if the operator takes a “cut” or “rake” of the proceeds, or if game proceeds are used to pay winners of other games, then the game may be a scheme of chance, which is illegal under Ohio law.  Shelly’s Uptown Grill does not take any proceeds from the Queen of Hearts game.  It is 100% payout to participants.
