Trauma: Shared Responsibility, Shared Healing; Supporting Children Together

Join us in person for the 2026 DEC Summit! The Cass County, MI Alliance for Drug Endangered Children has existed since 2023 to help make a difference in the lives of children impacted by substance misuse and trauma. This year’s Summit will build upon the fundamentals of understanding the causes of trauma, identifying potential traumatic events and their impact on children’s lives, and will move toward initiatives to better understand the effects of trauma on behavior, and initiatives and techniques to mitigate the impact on socialization and learning, including in the classroom. Learn about “Handle With Care” a trauma informed program in our own community. Dr. Dustin Young from Andrews University's International Center for Trauma Education and Care will be with us again this year, as well as Christopher Robinson from MDHHS.
