Discover Wisconsin's eight bat species and the important role they play in our ecosystems. These remarkable mammals provide natural insect control, consuming thousands of insects each night, while facing significant challenges from White-nose Syndrome, habitat loss, and other threats. Learn about the biology, ecology, and conservation of Wisconsin's bats and how you can help protect them.

Following the presentation and weather permitting, attendees are invited to stay from 7:30-8:30pm for an optional guided walk around the beautiful Field Station prairie. As sunset approaches, we'll bring out bat acoustic monitoring equipment to listen for and identify the bat species utilizing the property, offering a unique glimpse into the hidden world of Wisconsin's nocturnal wildlife.
