- **Event Description**: The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville and Douglas County is excited to celebrate the work of the artists of tomorrow during National Youth Art Month. Douglas County Art teachers have been hard at work with students to create drawings, paintings, and other masterpieces to display at the CAC. The gallery will be abuzz with bright and imaginative artwork from March 3rd – 27th, with an opening reception celebrated on Thursday, March 5th from 5 – 7 pm, hosted by Never Alone Clubhouse. 

Youth Art Month is a nationally celebrated program administered by The Council for Art Education (CFAE). Established in 1961, the CFAE provides ways for youth to be represented in art shows, school exhibits, and community activities while also encouraging creativity, observation, and visual communication. Youth Art Month activities connect more than 800,000 K-12 students and over 200 art educators all across America.  

The young artists of today will be the designers and visionaries of tomorrow. Art is instrumental to the development and success of a child’s life, providing critical thinking skills, building a platform for self-expression, and encouraging children to explore and learn about the worldA photo of a young girl with her Youth Art Month artwork around them. The national theme for Youth Art Month 2026 is “The World Needs Art,” focused on exploring the essential role of visual arts education in the development and quality of life for K-12 students. 

The Never Alone Clubhouse RCO, the reception host, is a safe place for individuals seeking rehabilitation and support with mental health or addiction challenges. The RCO provides activities, community education, outreach programs, peer-based recovery support services, and recovery coaching.
