This workshop will provide an overview of how circle of security parenting can help nurture a child’s attachment, emotional resilience and freedom to explore thus promoting development into a secure adult.
Learning Objectives of the Training
Attendance will promote insight into effective parenting behaviors by exploring:
Attachment theory through the lens of Circle of Security
What is state of mind and how it guides parenting behavior
What is security of attachment and the impact security has on a child’s life
What is insecurity of attachment and the impact insecurity has on a child’s life
How can parents help their children be more secure
The essential ingredients of intervention
How state of mind guides those who help families
Overview of COS outcome data
Who Should Attend?
If you work in North Queensland for Queensland Health and work with parents, caregivers or families and want more knowledge about circle of security parenting this workshop is for you.
If you work for THHS and are a parent, grandparent, or any other type of caregiver or support a care giver and want more insight into the effectiveness of circle of security parenting then this course is an opportunity for you to gain that insight.
Registration Essential. Places limited. Application considered from QH North QLD employees (preference given to THHS). It is free for QH participants.
