The Dada Lab: An Experimental Collage Workshop
NOVEMBER 22 | 11AM-2PM
Teens and adults | $40 for members; $50 for not-yet-members
Join artist and educator Tara Stallworth Lee for a playful collage and papermaking workshop! In conjunction with Constructions: Contemporary Fiber and shaped by Tara’s piece, 264 Bushels, participants will be introduced to the nonsensical, thought provoking aesthetics of Dadaism; inspiration to infuse and influence projects. With an emphasis on process over product, we will disrupt, reimagine, and remix. Tara will guide you in forming handmade papers from fibers like denim and iris, share simple collage techniques, and provide hearty encouragement as you create your own absurdly wonderful works of art.
BRING YOUR OWN PAPERS! Participants are welcome to bring their own papers for projects. Examples include photographs, magazine cutouts, postage stamps, posters, ephemera, books, etc . . .
