The Morlocks – die 1984 in San Diego gegründete 1960ies-Garage-Band um den legendären Frontmann Leighton Koizumi – ist noch heute der meist respektierte aller 1980er Neo-Garage-Acts. Als Folge-Projekt von „The Gravedigger V“ ließ man mit der Orgel gleich auch die puristische Haltung zurück und adaptierte die Härte der Stooges. Damit legte die Band den Grundstein für den Garage-Punk der 1990er Jahre. Das Spin-Magazin vermeldete 1999 Koizumis Tod – umso mehr ist er seit einiger Zeit „Back From The Grave“.

Das aktuelle Line-Up wartet neben Leighton Koizumi on vocals mit namhaften Musikern der europäischen Garage-Szene auf: Bernadette (Sonny Vincent, Humpers) und Marcello Salis (Gravedigger V, Hangee V) an den Gitarren sowie Oliver „Pille“ Pilsner (Fuzztones, Cheeks, Magnificent Brotherhood) am Bass – The Morlocks today: ein völlig neuer Trip und neues Material, gepaart mit alten Klassikern. Die Vorlage hatte die Band schon im Frühjahr 2016 mit dem Release der EP „Time to Move“ geliefert. 2018 folgte der nächste große Wurf: aufgenommen von Alaska Winter im Liquid Studio sowie mixed ’n‘ mastered von Jim Diamond erschien der erste Longplayer nach dem legendären Album „Play Chess“ von 2010. „Bring On The Mesmeric Condition“ wurde weltweit live präsentiert. Und jetzt ist es endlich wieder soweit,

The Morlocks gehen „on the road“ und heizen ihrem Publikum einmal mehr kräftig ein: „Zwei Dinge, die bei jeder Morlocks-Show bereit stehen sollten, sind kaltes Bier und trockene Handtücher. Ihr werdet es brauchen!“ Für ordentlich temperiertes Bier wird gesorgt sein, Schwitzlappen sind selbst mitzubringen!
