Am 23. Juli ist die Nordstadt Session wieder beim Sommer am U zu Gast, diesmal mit Omz Irie als Opener und DJ-Sets von Downtown Habiba Brown & RAM ONN!

Omz Irie

Omz Irie (alias Omar Dahaba) stammt aus Gambia und lebt heute in Dortmund. Seine Leidenschaft ist die Musik. Der Songwriter, Gitarrist und Sänger mischt Reggae mit verschiedenen anderen Musikstilen. Er eröffnet die Nordstadt Session auf der „Sommer am U“ Open-Air-Bühne. Bring dein Instrument mit und steig ein!

„B2B beyond the norm – the big beats around da world!“ Bekannt durch ihre besonders heißen und einzigartigen Mischungen aus Afro, Rap, Dub & Tech-House. DJ Downtown Habiba Brown & DJ RAM ONN an den Turntables – Dive Deep and shake it off!

Umsonst und Draußen. Jedes Jahr von Juni bis August wird der Vorplatz des Dortmunder U zur Festivalbühne. Dank des bewährten „made by many“-Konzepts ist für ziemlich jeden Geschmack etwas dabei – ob Live-Musik von Folk & Indie über Pop & Rock bis Hiphop, Punk und Jazz. Ob Poetry Slam oder Lesung, ob Electronic-DJ-Set oder Schallplatten-Abend.

Die Dortmunder Nordstadt Session ist eine Institution für die freie Musikszene im Ruhrgebiet. Seit 2017 treffen sich Musiker:innen der Region Freitags im Dortmunder Norden, um gemeinsam zu improvisieren. Die musikalische Mischung ist so bunt wie die Bevölkerung des Stadtteils, der seinen ganz eigenen Sound kreiert.

Musiker:innen und Bands aller Stilrichtungen sind willkommen. Der Opener ist im Livestream zu sehen. Danach ist die Bühne frei für weitere Beiträge, die den Klang der Dortmunder Nordstadt bereichern.

Die Nordstadt Sessions sind ein Projekt von Julia Rumi / Machbarschaft Borsig11 e.V. in Kooperation mit Langer August e.V. und der BVB-Gründerkirche, gefördert vom Kulturbüro Dortmund und realisiert mit den Chancen der Bewohner:innen des Borsigplatz-Quartiers. https://www.borsig11.de
