Brora Golf Club - The northernmost point on our journey, Brora provides the opportunity to step back in time and experience golf in a more sustainable and simpler way. The course is a James Braid design from the late 1800s that retains its old school nature and pays homage to its humble history.
Castle Stuart - Kingsbarns owner Mark Parsinen brought Gil Hanse up to the Scottish Highlands to build what many consider to be the best modern design in the country. Now a part of Cabot Highlands, Castle Stuart is not as natural as many dunesland courses but what was created is widely regarded among the best in the region.
Old Petty - While it's yet to open for public play, Tom Doak's new Old Petty course is already making waves across the pond. The course occupies a unique piece of linksland that incorporates a couple short force carries over a local estuary, separating the course into two parcels. As with most of Doak's creations, Old Petty takes full advantage of its natural property and shows off the attributes that make links golf great throughout its routing.
Nairn - Unlike some of its more high profile neighbors, Nairn is more of a members club that prides itself on its long history and roots to some of the earliest days of golf in the country. Unassuming yet strong in presenation, it is a classic example of what makes Scottish golf special.
Royal Dornoch - Simply put, you can argue that Royal Dornoch is one of the ten best golf courses in the world. The course is located in the heart of Dornoch and has many links qualities that you'd expect from a traditional Scottish course. Its brilliant green complexes, and the punishment for missing said greens, are what make Royal Dornoch stand out from its neighbors.
Royal Aberdeen - Along with Royal Dornoch, Royal Aberdeen is more on the championship style of the spectrum for our trip. That said, it's exceedingly welcoming and boasts an incredibly strong opening nine to go along with its strong finish. The land itself has been home to golfers going back nearly 300 years and is an integral piece of the Northeastern Scotland story.
Cruden Bay - The last stop on our journey, Cruden Bay is about as much fun as you can have on a golf course. Huge dunes and land formations occupy certain sections of the course but Cruden Bay is also firmly located in the center of town. Its unique mix of quirk and brilliance makes it a fan favorite and a wonderful end to the trip.
Airports - All participants will fly into and out of Edinburgh (EDI). Transportation will be provided from start to finish, including to and from all rounds of golf and between locations.
Hotels - Participants will be treated to great accommodations throughout the trip. We'll set up shop in the heart of Dornoch at the Royal Golf Hotel Apartments at Royal Dornoch for four nights, move over to the The Marcliffe Hotel in Aberdeen between our rounds at Royal Aberdeen and Cruden Bay, and drop everyone off at the Hampton by Hilton EDI for a convenient stay ahead of departures.
