We are delighted to welcome Dr Guy Sutton, a neuroscientist, who will be visiting us on Monday 19th May to deliver a lecture titled:

From Here to Maturity: Inside the Teenage Brain

Teenagers have long puzzled and frustrated adults with black-and-white thinking, egocentrism, impulsivity, and a strong focus on the present. But are these behaviours simply the result of “raging hormones,” or is there more to the story?

In this engaging and informative lecture, Dr Sutton will explore the developing adolescent brain — separating myth from fact. He will guide us through the stages of brain development from childhood to adulthood, highlighting the neurological changes that occur during adolescence.

The talk will also cover the effects of cannabis, vaping, and lockdown on the teenage brain, and conclude with insights from current research into the impact of smartphone and social media use on young minds.
