A class for students wishing to explore Yoga beyond the physical practice and deepen their understanding through experience.
Each class brings together different tools of Yoga, including āsana, breath, prāṇāyāma, bhāvana, mantra and meditation, with time to explore greater subtlety, attention and refinement.
Our current focus is prāṇāyāma. We are working progressively with different prāṇāyāma techniques and tools, integrating preparation through movement and breath before moving towards seated prāṇāyāma.
“Advanced” does not necessarily mean more physically demanding. It is about developing a deeper relationship with practice, learning to observe, refine and understand how and why different tools are used.
The class is taught within the Viniyoga tradition of T. Krishnamacharya and TKV Desikachar, respecting the principle that practice should be appropriate to the individual.
