I am delighted to offer this workshop at a very reduced rate to my beloved Pengari Community <3

Step-by-simple-step, I will walk you through how to transform unspun, beautifully dyed wool, into an earthy mama figure for your seasonal table, also known as a nature table. I will also share how she can subtly adapt so you can keep her on display as the seasons change. 

? She will be mounted on a wooden disc that you will decorate with gumnuts and dried flowers.
? You will have a choice of hair and skin tones.
? You will also be able to make the Sweetest sleeping root baby & pumpkin to adorn her. Perfect for Autumn & Winter.
? My photo is a guide and I will help you create an Autumn Mother that is truly unique to you. She may prefer to be an old grandmother. 
? Needle felting involves no stitching, just repetitive and mindful poking with a felting needle. It is Such a forgiving and versatile medium and you will learn So many transferable skills.

?WHERE & WHEN?

Held in the Banksia Place Community room on Tuesday 24th February, we will arrive at 9.15am to settle in and begin promptly at 9.30. We will have a short break for lunch (BYO) and complete at 2pm.

Your seat will be secured with payment and on a first come first serve basis as places are limited. Normally $150, this workshop is being offered to the Pengari Community for just $75. Please message with your email and mobile number and I will send details of how to book in.

?HER STORY?

In the Waldorf / Rudolf Steiner tradition, we tell stories about Mother Earth in a figurative sense, particularly in preschool: All through the Winter the root babies sleep underground, and when Spring comes Mother Earth wakes them and they emerge as seedlings and then by Summer they become flower children. 

Autumn Mother or Harvest Mother could also carry a basket and sit on a seasonal nature table with felted pumpkins or found treasures from bush walks. It is not a toy. 


?ABOUT THE FACILITATOR?

Arzu fell in love with felting at the Pengari craft group in 2009! Soon she was coordinating the group and went on to develop a range of craft kits to enable her boys to attend the school. She has held creative spaces for women since 2012 and is most known for her plant-filled Medicine dolls and magical nature spirits.

?A NOTE ABOUT WHO CAN ATTEND: This workshop suits All skills levels, those who have never touched a felting needle or those wishing to develop their skills. Or simply those in need of a bit of Me time after the long Summer break. Open to mamas, papas, nanas and carers within our extended community. 

Homeschooled adolescents are welcome if over 16. Due to the sharp barbed needle, the ability to focus is important. Dexterity less so. To allow us to focus and complete, this workshop is not suited to young children milling around. The Thursday Craft Group held lovingly by Eve would be a suitable alternative for you if you have young ones who need to remain with you. 

If your children are in Preschool in the second half of the week, and you can only attend then, I would love to receive expressions of interest for a second, later week workshop.
